Hamilton House

This past weekend I visited the Hamilton House in Maine. It was built in about 1787 by Col. Jonathan Hamilton. The home is located on a bluff overlooking Salmon Falls River. After being owned by a couple of other families the home and property was eventually purchased in the late 1800′s by Mrs. George Tyson of Boston and her stepdaughter Elise. They were able to restore and preserve the home and gardens.

There was something very relaxing and welcoming about the majestic grounds and the home. I felt like I could have stayed there all day. I almost didn’t want to leave.

–>The pictures are great. Your photography skills are improving quickly! When are you going to share some more tips?

The gardens are amazing. I love old historic estates.
I must agree with the other comments. The gardens are great but your photo’s are amazing. I wish I had been with you to tour this house.
Wow! You took some beautiful pictures Jes! They look like postcards! I have never been there but I want to go now!
